Vocational Rehabilitation may help eligible individuals whose physical, medical, mental-health or learning condition creates a barrier to preparing for, obtaining, keeping or advancing in employment.

Disabilities do not always have to be severe or visible. Conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, asthma or a learning disability may be considered depending on the individual and how the condition affects employment.

A diagnosis does not automatically guarantee eligibility, tuition assistance or a specific level of funding. Decisions are made by the applicant's state VR agency and assigned counselor.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act may help eligible adults, dislocated workers and certain young people pay for approved career training.

Ticket to Work is a free, voluntary Social Security program for eligible people ages 18 through 64 who receive SSI or SSDI disability benefits and want help preparing for, finding or maintaining employment.

Ticket to Work is not an automatic tuition grant. Services and available assistance depend on the individual's eligibility and chosen service provider.

Common education benefits include the Post-9/11 GI Bill® under Chapter 33 and the Montgomery GI Bill® under Chapter 30. Eligible spouses or children may also qualify for transferred or dependent education benefits.

Depending on the benefit used, approved tuition may be paid directly to HEO Academy or the student may receive a monthly education payment and arrange tuition payment with the school.

Benefit eligibility, remaining entitlement and payment amounts are determined by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Veterans with a service-connected disability that affects employment may qualify for Veteran Readiness and Employment. VR&E can provide approved career training and employment support through an assigned VA counselor.

Before HEO Academy can complete the school-side certification process, Admissions needs a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility or current VA education decision letter.

This is the first outside scholarship HEO Academy recommends to students who are planning ahead. The Work Ethic Scholarship Program supports people pursuing training for skilled-trade careers.

HEO Academy students have successfully earned Mike Rowe WORKS scholarships, making this one of the strongest outside scholarship opportunities we recommend.

Qualifying Arkansas residents may receive state scholarship assistance toward approved career training at HEO Academy. The online application is completed through the Arkansas SAMS portal.

Bring Back the Trades offers scholarship opportunities for students preparing to enter skilled-trade careers. HEO Academy has previously had a student receive an award through this program.

Qualifying single parents may receive flexible scholarship assistance while completing eligible education or skilled-trade training. The organization also offers support intended to help recipients remain in school and prepare for employment.

Eligibility, award amounts and geographic coverage are determined by the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund.

Some federally recognized tribes provide education, career-training or workforce assistance to eligible tribal members. HEO Academy has previously accepted funding provided through tribal programs.

If you've worked on a farm within the last two years—even seasonally or in a supporting role—you may qualify for assistance with career training at HEO Academy.

Employers, churches, nonprofit organizations, community foundations and other local groups sometimes help individuals pay for career training. These opportunities are usually handled individually rather than through one national application.
