A Job!
First and foremost, we understand that securing a great, high-paying job is your main goal. Rest assured, HEO Academy has a job placement rate over 90%! We network with a wide range of contractors all over the country. What's more, contractors actively seek out our graduates and often visit our facility to recruit our students straight out of the field.
How much can I expect to make?
We're asked this question quite a bit, and it varries between states, but here is a sample of some of the jobs our students have been offered across the country.
What all will you teach me?
Our class covers more than just the basic controls. Yes, we teach you how to operate the equipment, but it's so much more than that. You'll learn how to complete JSA's, read blueprints, layout a jobsite, perform equipment inspections, differentiate soil types and classifications, as well as grading, trenching, shoring, sloping, benching, OSHA safety requirements, and more. As part of your training we even place you in the roll of a foreman, so you'll get the opportunity to lead your own crew!
What's the schedule like?
A typical class has around 8-10 students per instructor. This is a full-time hands-on course. We run 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday. Depending on the course you've selected, this will either run for as long as 8 weeks or as short as 2 weeks. The first weeks of the program will be split days. The first half of the day will be spent in the classroom, where you will learn everything you need to know about operating, and the second half of the day will be out in the field practicing what you've learned, on the actual equipment. After the first few weeks, classroom time is over and it's all hands-on training until you graduate.
What if I start to fall behind?
We understand, some people catch on quicker than others, and that's okay. We offer every student the option to stay an extra 2 hours every weekday. This is a chance for you to make up time that you may have missed, get plenty of extra practice on a piece of eqiupment, or improve your skill in a particular area. We're here to make sure that you're successful!
It's too far away!
We've thought of that too! We offer extremely affordable lodging, priced at just $300 per month. Many of our students come from all over the United States and we've simplified living arrangements to ensure you're as comfortable as possible while you complete your training. Our lodging is fully furnished and all utilities are included. All you need to bring is your clothes, toiletries, and twin-sized bedding.
We now offer all of our classes part time 6:00pm to 10:00pm Monday - Friday. Now you can get the training and certifications you need in the evenings. Perfect for those with a busy schedule. Call (501) 628-7309 for more details.
